I am 35, born and raised in Irvine Orange County California. I have a BS from University of Utah, and an Eagle Scout. Until recently, I spent the better part of 7 years working for a large criminal defense and family law firm handling their intake. It was a great opportunity to touch many areas of law and learn about many peoples struggles as I took thousands of calls per year. Basically, I am just a regular guy with an unique understanding of the altered state I want to share with the world. I grew up in a strict religious house, but a great household nonetheless, with plenty of luxuries very few are provided. Early in life I noticed many kids being punished for drug related issues in a gruesome way. Several people I know were sent to camps in the wilderness where they were given very little to live on for weeks at a time. The punishment did not fit the “crime”. Too much pot smoking and a 14 year old kid gets this treatment. The “Pasadena Star-News” reported on a local boot camp where staff practiced cruel punishments such as “smoking” — making kids drink water until they vomit — berating kids until they cry, kicking kids and holding them on the ground using their knees.” Naturally this did not work. These kids were not killing, raping, torturing, or committing other heinous acts. In fact, they were doing what many kids do-smoke pot, drink beer, ditch class, told their teachers off, etc. I saw hatred and retaliation towards all authorities as the typical result of severe punishment. Also early in life, I noticed people partying with absolutely no clue what they were doing. Taking LSD assuming it will be like taking a few shots of Tequilla or taking a pain killer. Next thing you know, they are tied down in a padded room with a helmet on screaming about the end of the world. The user forgets they simply took drugs. It WILL WEAR OFF! I wish some drugs lasted longer, we would be so lucky. Lastly, I noticed what I call the “late bloomer”. This person is someone with money, stature, values, families, and more. Once the late bloomers “party begins”, their resources and lack of self awareness can cause for a path of fast destruction effecting themselves and those dependent on them. Remember the first time you did cocaine, ate mushrooms, candy flipped, or just got drunk? Imagine having a 6 or 7 figure salary to accompany that. Most of us started later in high school or freshman year of college and lacked those funds thus lacking the ability to take the party to the next level and completely wreck ourselves.
